This famous natural remedy has been used for a long time, and its value was appreciated by the ancient Romans. The proof is the round bricks that served to transfer the warm air. Today you can find them in the Museum of Nin Antiquities.

Just before the First World War, the Medical Faculty in Vienna planned to conduct a mud analysis and make a decision on the construction of a health resort. But everything stopped after the war began.

Despite the fact that the decision of the faculty in Vienna was not realized, thanks to the Zadar General Hospital, rehabilitation for the treatment of numerous ailments has been carried out for several decades.

Nin mud as medicine

The sandy beach known as Queen’s Beach or Queens Beach is not only popular for its beauty, warm and shallow sea. Many want to rest in this place mostly thanks to the healing role of peloids.

Anyone who has at least once battled skin or rheumatic diseases is aware of how good mud is for treating their condition.

The professional staff from the hospital in Zadar decided to start therapies. Treatment is carried out in June, July, August and September.

Mud consists of minerals and humus. Therapy begins with exercise followed by the application of peloids to the body. Patients then sunbathe on the beach and wait about 30 minutes for the mud to dry. This is followed by rinsing the mud and swimming in the warm sea.

The treatment is repeated two more times a day, and the whole therapy lasts a total of 10 to 20 days.

The healing natural mixture is not good to apply to the area where the heart and kidneys are located. The inside of the elbow and the back of the knee should be avoided. Certain spots on the body should be avoided as it dries out the skin.

Studies have shown that mud helps in the treatment of female infertility and numerous gynaecological problems, as well as in the removal of cellulite and for a more beautiful skin tone.

It is necessary to consult a doctor before deciding on therapy. Therapy should be avoided by anyone who has problems with the circulatory system, heart and pressure.

Natural treatment for psoriasis

Nin mud also helps in the treatment of psoriasis. It is a skin disease with symptoms of itching and rash. The causes can be metabolic disorders. Although there is no method that will cure the disease to the end, mud therapy aims to alleviate the symptoms.

Mud treatment should be used under the supervision of a physician. It can reduce the inflammatory process and improve circulation in the blood vessels. Unlike lake mud and therapeutic clay, sea mud contains algae and salt.

During treatment, the mud is applied in pure form, and the duration of therapy will depend on how severe the symptoms are. Suffice it to say that each therapy is individual.

If you are not sure, ask your doctor. Many who have already had the opportunity to try a natural type of treatment have seen how good it is to combine swimming in a warm and shallow sea with a healing type of mud. If given the chance, try the natural method yourself.
